folio-a-go-go
Ta-dah! The first online critique. For this one, let us again consider our beloved principles and elements of great design:
PRINCIPLES:
Harmony/Unity - the overall sense of integration between the whole and it’s parts.
Balance - the sense of equilibrium of the parts within the whole.
Rhythm - the tempo at which the viewer processes the relationship of the parts to the whole.
Emphasis - the signification of one particular part of the whole.
Proportion - the scale relationship (large vs. small) of the parts within the whole.
ELEMENTS:
Line - considers the distance connecting two fixed points, on any given object
Silhouette - considers of the shape of any given object
Color - considers the chromatic hue, value, and saturation of any given object
Texture - considers the sense of touch in reference to any given object
Detail - considers the specificities which are particular to any given object
Remember that the elements of design are the tools which we employ in the service of the principles of design. I’d like each of you to comment on one of the following posts, and be sure that you frame your responses within the terms of the principles and elements of design. Saying you “just like it because it’s cool” isn’t enough here.
